Just Their Bag

An exclusive edition of Hermès’s Haut à Courroies bag marks the opening of the fashion house’s new boutique at Stanford Shopping Center.

The Hermès Endless Road Haut à Courroies, $40,800, is currently only available at the just-opened boutique at Stanford.

The orange facade finally came down in May on the new Hermès boutique at Stanford Shopping Center. Designed by the Paris-based firm RDAI, the 6,100-square-foot space brims with a full range of the French luxury house’s offerings. To coincide with the opening, Hermès exclusively launched the Endless Road edition of the Haut à Courroies bag in Togo calfskin. Its landscape motif, inspired by pop art and 1960s California, is composed of 47 embroidered pieces of leather in 11 hues. (The bag, part of the autumn/winter 2018 collection, won’t be rolled out to any other Hermès locations until late summer.) While the HAC concept dates back to the early 1900s, when it was used for carrying riding gear, this decorated version—measuring approximately 16 by 10 by 19.5 inches—is perfectly suited for toting a laptop and other daily necessities.
